Talked to the city water consultant yesterday about water pressure. He investigated and found out that a single 1 inch copper pipe was feeding two houses. After a bit of friendly conversation the city agreed to correct a 65 year implementation error and run two 1 inch water feeds from the water main.

So I woke this morning to the thumping of the torpedo and 4 inches of snow with the contractor shivering and shaking there heads wondering about their career choices. Lol
We come across this all the time in this old Mill City. The town usually loves finding these because it means extra revenue. Make sure if you're on the original service they punch the corporation stop which is the fitting where the service meets the main, is "punched" to clean out the opening which will help with the pressure. If it's an old cast iron main, this can be a problem.

I went out and stood over them while they punch two holes into the new greenish waterman. They are going to install two new valves and keys, but need to dig into my garden to avoid a huge Spruce tree where the current keys are located (wrapped in tree roots). The foreman said the current kets are connected with a "horseshoe Y" and will be eliminated, but major hole digging and rock moving is needed to get it done. But before that paperwork needs to be received and signed off so the work can get done. They claim it will be "free" but I will believe it after the work is done and a few billing cycles have happened.
