Wanted my color variation so got a little bolder with the various stains...

...and finished with this...

So I'm thinking a low retaining wall. Nothing to really stop someone from going over (memories of Montana ;) ) but also not too tall so as to obstruct the view of the structure.

Looks like the work of a Master Stone Mason.

Nice modeling Dave. The difference in colors looks great.

Looking good, Dave.

I think an interesting technique to try with these stones would be to place them together as a wall, and then paint the wall like a stone face, with all the different colours blending into each other.  Then dismantle the wall, mix up the stones and build it again.  In this way you should get each stone with a variety of different colours, but still different to the stones surrounding it.

Cheers, Mark.

Thanks Jim, Karl, Mark. Got sidetracked doing yard work...back at it ASAP!

Thanks, Karl...a ways to go, yet.👍🏻

Opa George

Dave, the hillside scenery looks fantastic. The entire scene is really cool.

Thanks, George!  Still more to add...cinder blocks, a couple of old tires some jerk dumped down the hill...then on to the other half of the scene. Likely this will have to wait as today is mowing and then packing for a 10-day trip to New England, including our pilgrimage to see George Sellios.

I'm happy to report they're no longer shelf orphans.
