Kit Building / I need someone help with Lopez !!
March 03, 2020, 08:56:30 AM
Does anyone know how many structure kits are in the Micro-Scale Lopez - Jennings lumber series of kits and what they are? Pictures would be good. I live one hour away from Lopez and my wife grew up 10 min. away. Been thru there allot and yes the rocket is still there. I would like to build them and eventually a Jennings Brothers sawmill Lopez line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.    Thanks

Bob,
Nice work on the bridges. You mentioned you were trying to simulate Floquil Natural Pine Flo-Stain, what was your method ?
Tommy

A little Tamiya brown, black and green in 91% alcohol. how much I don't know just go light on green. Then A&I wash. A little tweaking and testing you have what vendors charge allot for it's fun! I have never found a secret mix it's all different.

I thought it would be interesting so it went from my head to my hands and this is what I came up with, I like it allot. Just thought it odd there are no pics I can find on the internet. They ran the n6b during the antenna period.

I just thought it would be different. Were there any, I can't find any pics. I took a old Quality Craft kit and some .020 brass wire this is what I ended up with!

Bob, very nice and lots of details. Great job. How did you get the "wet" look on the platform in areas where the workers are loading the ice?

I just brushed on some gloss coat and it worked!  Surprised me too!   I have some more pictures if you want to see them.

LHS AKA Sayre Hobby sent me these, same buildings with a curved platform. If I didn't almost have it done I would have made it that curved!

Has anyone built a Suncoast Icing Platform ? I have done searches and found nothing. I have picked up one in HO and the 18" extension. Any (pictures, articles) would help!

                                                                               Thanks Bob

Only 4 more!

So how do you like the finished kit?  It took one year, who knows how many hours or pieces. Fun yes, would I do it again, no - too big 2'x4' .  Now on to other kits! Thanks for the positive comments along the way.
